Book Review by Tabitha Makumi, Enabling Support Foundation Communications and PR.

A folk tale in early reading is Searching for the Spirit of Spring, a children’s book which is a creative and a community enthused story set up in a village. Brought up in a community, the characterization of Nkanyezi is that of an observative kid who notices something is amiss in her village.

She notices that the village is not as vibrant as it used to be. Friends don’t gather as much as they used to, daily activities are not run as they used to.

A leader in her community, Nkanyezi sets up a village spring festival to showcase the community’s culinary skills, dance and entrepreneurial nature.

Authored by Mosa Mahlaba, edited by Selina Morulane and designed by Sibusiso Mkhwanasi, Nkanyezi is an admirable early reading children’s book which restores hope in her community.
